Oklahoma and TCU Earn Week 2 Accolades

September 03, 2019

Kaylee Dao (Oklahoma), Emily Alvarado (TCU) and Gracie Brian (TCU) earned Big 12 soccer weekly awards for week two.

Dao was named the Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Conference in points with eight. She scored four goals over the weekend, including both of Oklahoma’s scores in a comeback draw against Bedlam rival Oklahoma State. Dao also netted the game-tying and game-winning goals in Sunday’s overtime victory over Tulsa. The senior forward now has five goals on the young season, already just one shy of her career high.

Alvarado earned Defensive Player of the Week honors after logging two clean sheets for the Horned Frogs. The junior goalkeeper made nine saves in two matches for TCU, including eight saves in a 1-0 shutout of No. 25 SMU.

Brian received Freshman of the Week accolades after scoring three goals over the weekend for the Horned Frogs. The midfielder scored the game-winner against No. 25 SMU and currently leads the team with four goals in 2019.

These are the first career honors for Dao, Alvarado and Brian.
