The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame released a list of 1,452 football student-athletes who have already earned their undergraduate degrees and will be playing this season while pursuing second diplomas. The list includes 111 student-athletes from the Big 12 Conference with all 10 teams represented.
Kansas State leads the nation with 21 graduates, while Baylor (14), Texas Tech (14), West Virginia (13), Iowa State (11) and Oklahoma State (10) all reported double-digit football players with degrees. Kansas (nine), Oklahoma (nine), TCU (seven) and Texas (three) were also mentioned on the list.
According to the NFF, the list was compiled with the help of athletics directors, faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors from all divisions who identified the players on their 2019 fall rosters who have already earned their undergraduate degrees. A total of 251 schools responded, creating the list of 1,452 student-athletes who are slated to play this year while pursuing additional diplomas.
