Winning a fifth green jacket was a huge moment for Tiger Woods. But the win also was big for a Las Vegas bettor, who pocketed $1.19 million for placing an $85,000 bet on Woods to win the Masters at 14-1 odds.
That bettor isn’t the only one who had — or nearly had — a big score. Who can forget the bettor who purchased a $1,500 ticket on Texas Tech to win the NCAA men’s basketball championship at 200-1 odds, for a payout of $300,000? He came up just short on that wager, but he did walk away with some money.
With those in mind, here is a running file of notable futures bets at legal U.S. sportsbooks.
