REMEMBER WHEN?

On this date in 1965, David Robinson was born. The Admiral made 10 All-Star teams, was the 1995 NBA MVP, won two NBA titles and two Olympic gold medals, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009 (and 2010 for his Olympic performance). Not bad!

WHAT’S ON TONIGHT?

White Sox at Tigers (1:10 p.m. ET, ESPN): It’s Game 1 of a doubleheader this afternoon in Detroit, and unfortunately for both teams, there are basically zero playoff implications here. The White Sox and Tigers have been out of the AL Central race for most of the season, and the wild card has been a distant memory for almost as long. On the plus side, Yoan Moncada!

The Basketball Tournament championship (9 p.m. ET, ESPN): Carmen’s Crew take on Golden Eagles alumni in the title game of The Basketball Tournament. In the semifinals, the Buckeye alums of Carmen’s Crew managed to upset the formerly undefeated Overseas Elite, while Marquette’s Golden Eagles alumni prevailed over Team Hines.
