THINGS TO CARE ABOUT
Free agency is messing with D-Wade’s collection …Dwyane Wade had an amazing sendoff in his final NBA season, and one ritual that stuck with fans was his swapping jerseys with opposing superstars after their last games against one another. Those jerseys were already collector’s items, but considering how many of the players involved are already on different teams, now they’re relics of a bygone era. Read More
The pressure’s on Russ and Harden … The time is ripe for the Rockets to finally make that title run they’ve been working toward for so long — the Warriors are depleted, James Harden is motivated, and Russell Westbrook’s addition is incredibly exciting. Yet for all that optimism, another early playoff exit could hurt far more than usual. For Harden and Westbrook, it’s do or die. Read More

FINAL FOR THE AGES
Put some respect on Djokovic’s name …Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Two names synonymous with the golden age of men’s tennis. Two of the all-time greats, no question. Beloved by fans and revered by their peers, their status in tennis lore is secure — and has been for quite some time. As for Novak Djokovic? No, the other member of the Big Three has failed to garner the same recognition and achieve “GOAT” status so readily. Sunday’s historic win, amidst a barrage of “Let’s go, Roger, let’s go!” chants, should change that. Read More
‘For now it hurts’: Federer falls short … Four hours, 55 minutes. That’s how long it took for Novak Djokovic to prevail over Roger Federer in Wimbledon’s first fifth-set tiebreak — that’s also the longest singles final in the tournament’s history, in case you were wondering. Eventual champion Djokovic described it as being the “mentally most demanding” match he has ever played in, which makes sense considering all the stats would lead you to believe Federer had it in the bag. But despite arguably being the better player for most of the match, 37-year-old Fed would go home without the trophy he so desperately hoped to be reunited with. Read More
How many chances does Serena have left? On Saturday, Serena Williams reached her third Grand Slam final since returning to competition in March 2018. Her accomplishment in reaching the Wimbledon final? Outstanding. But after getting crushed by Simona Halep, it was rendered meaningless in her pursuit to tie, and then surpass, the record for most Grand Slam singles titles in women’s tennis history. Serena is still extraordinary but the palpable divide that used to exist between herself and all the other players has dissipated. Read More
Sports world reacts to Djokovic-Federer … By now you know that Novak Djokovic managed to outlast Roger Federer to retain his crown at the All England Club. But if you happen to be among the part of the population who prefers to sleep in on Sundays (hey, no judgement), you missed a real doozy. The epic duel was **almost** as taxing on the spectators as it was for the participants. So we took the liberty of compiling the reactions of said viewers to the 422 points, 68 games and 35 aces as the action unfolded. Read More

REMEMBER WHEN?
On this date in 1990, Damian Lillard was born. The four-time NBA All-Star and 2013 Rookie of the Year hit one of the clutchest shots of the 2018-19 playoffs, a 37-point buzzer-beater to knock out the Thunder.

World Series of Poker final table (10 p.m. ET, ESPN): All the remaining players are guaranteed to take home $1 million (must be nice), but their eyes are on that coveted $10 million first-place prize. Tonight the competition will be narrowed from six to three as half of the remaining players are sent packing. May the odds be ever in their favor.
