REMEMBER WHEN?

On this date in 1979, a local disc jockey hosted “Disco Demolition Night” at Chicago’s Comiskey Park. The White Sox had hoped a crowd of about 20,000 would show up to see a crate of disco records blown up before the game. Instead, 50,000 rowdy fans attended, the explosion damaged the field and attendees had to be dispersed by riot police after they stormed the field. All of this proved that, of course, disco will never die.
