Austin, Texas – Through two days of competition at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, held on the University of Texas campus, 30 All-Americans have been named.
A total of 13 First Team All-Americans have been honored already, while 17 have earned Second Team recognition.
On opening day of competition, sophomore and two-time Big 12 Indoor and Outdoor shot put champion Tripp Piperi of Texas earned his first NCAA gold with a winning throw of 69-3.25/21.11m. This marked the first national champion of the 2019 NCAA outdoor championship for the Conference.
Action for Big 12 student-athletes on the third day of competition, Friday, is set to begin with the first four events of the heptathlon. Champions for both the track events and field events for the men are set to be crowned Friday as well, beginning with the high jump at 7 p.m. CT.
