Big 12 Built Campaign Twitter Wrap-Up

The Big 12 Conference’s “Big 12 Built” 10-week campaign concluded last week. The social media initiative displayed the transferable skills that student-athletes acquire throughout their experience at a Big 12 institution. The campaign was featured on the Conference’s Twitter account, @Big12Conference, over a period of two months (March 21-May 23).

Each Conference institution across 10 sports was highlighted and over 260,000 impressions were made through Twitter. The campaign recognized a transferable skill each week, as identified by the 24 student-athletes that serve on the Big 12’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The skills range from Leadership to Self-Motivation and Time Management.

The Twitter graphic featured a Conference SAAC member competing in their sport, along with a brief description of how the skills developed as a student-athlete are marketable to future employers and can lead to success in a professional career after sport.

The campaign was shared by the official athletics department Twitter handle, featured student-athletes, the respective student-athlete’s sport twitter account, the head coach of the student-athlete, athletics director and the program’s SAAC account.
