Texas extended its lead after the second day of the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship by a commanding 22 strokes. The Longhorns registered a 297 (+9) and head into the final day of competition with an overall score of 584 (+8).
Texas’ Agathe Laisne and Sara Kouskova top the Longhorns after finishing round two in first and second place. Laisne, who finished third yesterday, jumped two spots after registering a 74 (+2) on the day. The sophomore is the only golfer with a total score under par at 143 (-1). Windy conditions affected the second round as the top individual scores were at two-over par 74.
Holding second place for the second straight day is Baylor with a score of 606 (+30) through 36 holes. Oklahoma State moves from fifth to third place after registering a 309 (+21) in round two for a total score of 609 (+33).
TCU stays in fourth at 614 (+38), followed by Oklahoma in fifth place at one stroke behind (+39). Kansas sits in sixth after carding a total of 617 (+41). Texas Tech remains in seventh with a 620 (+44) mark, while Iowa State finishes in eighth with 622 (+46) and Kansas State in ninth place at 631 (+55).
Action resumes Tuesday morning with the leading teams teeing off last. Kansas State, Iowa State and Texas Tech tee off at 8:00 a.m. CT, followed by Kansas, Oklahoma and TCU at 9:00 a.m. CT. The final group of Oklahoma State, Baylor and Texas begins at 10:00 a.m. CT.
