Success translates into some serious cash for coaches who have special seasons, not only in terms of raises but also in bonuses.

For example, Dan Mullen earned a $300,000 bonus for playing in a New Year’s Day Bowl.

Here is how the bonus system works at UF with percentages based on their annual base salaries for the given year:

ALL COACHES

SEC Championship: 10 percent for all coaches

AAC Championship 5 percent for all coaches (lacrosse)

NCAA Championship: 30 percent for all coaches

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL

Participate in Super Regional: 10 percent (Round of 16)

or advance to CWS: 15 percent

or participate in CWS Championship Game: 20 percent

or win CWS Championship Game: 30 percent

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Participate in Round of 64 teams: 10 percent

or reach Sweet 16: 15 percent

or reach Final Four: 25 percent

or win National Championship 30 percent

FOOTBALL

Play in SEC Championship Game: 10 percent

Play in a bowl: 1 month salary

or play in a New Year’s Day bowl: 10 percent (Cotton, Fiesta, Orange, Peach, Sugar or Rose Bowl)

or College Football Playoff game: 20 percent

or play College National Championship game: 25 percent

or win College National Championship game: 30 percent

MEN’S & WOMEN’S GOLF

Participate in Final 15: 10 percent

Qualify for Match Play (top 8): 12 percent

Qualify for Semifinals: 15 percent

2nd-place finish: 20 percent

Win the National Championship: 30 percent

GYMNASTICS

Qualify for Nationals (top 8): 10 percent

or 4th place NCAA finish: 12 percent

or 3rd place NCAA finish: 15 percent

or 2nd place NCAA finish: 20 percent

or win the National Championship 30 percent

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

Qualifying for NCAA Tournament: 10 percent

J.C. DEACON, men’s golf

Current contract runs through 2023.

Base salary: $164,000.

Annual longevity payment: $25,000.

Extras: equipment ($10,000); dealer car; academic incentive ( $4,000).

2018-2019 total salary: $203,000.

EMILY GLASER, women’s golf

Current contract runs through 2023.

Base salary: $161,000.

Annual longevity payment: $5,000.

Extras: equipment ($10,000); dealer car; academic incentive ($4,000).

2018-2019 total salary: $180,000.

MIKE HOLLOWAY, men and women’s track

Current contract runs through 2028.

Base salary: $321,200.

Annual longevity payment: $68,000.

Extras: equipment ($65,000); dealer car; academic incentive ($8,000, two teams).

2018-2019 total salary: $462,000.

DAN MULLEN, football

Current contract runs through 2024.

Base salary: $3,000,000.

(Instead of a longevity incentive, Mullen has a $12 million buyout that would be owed him if he was let go without cause).

Extras: equipment ( $700,000); equipment from Nike ($350,000); two dealer cars; expense account ($200,000); airplane use ($70,000); talent ($1,750,000); pension ($33,000); academic incentive ($4,000).

Also, Mullen gets a seat on the team plane for his wife and up to four guests, 24 tickets to all home games plus a suite for 18.

2018-2019 total salary: $6,107,000.

ANTHONY NESTY, men’s swimming and diving

Current contract runs through 2021.

Base salary: $155,000.

Extras: car allowance ($6,000); academic incentive ($4,000).

2018-2019 total salary: $165,000.

CAMERON NEWBAUER, women’s basketball

Current contract runs through 2021.

Base salary: $283,250.

Annual longevity payment: $100,000.

Extras: equipment ($25,000); talent ($60,000); personal expense allowance ($36,000); two dealer cars; academic incentive ($4,000).

2018-2019 total salary: $508,000.

AMANDA O’LEARY, lacrosse

Current contract runs through 2023.

Base salary: $157,550.

Annual longevity payment: $15,000.

Extras: dealer car; academic incentive ($4,000).
