Katie Schell (Oklahoma State), Grace Thiel (Baylor), Josie Mootz (TCU) and Sydney Scheckel (Baylor) were named Big 12 Equestrian Riders of the Month for February.
This week’s award marks the first all-time for all four riders.
Schell (Equitation over Fences) set a season-high 86 at No. 5 Baylor and did not record a score below 80 throughout the month of February. The sophomore outscored her opponents by an average of 3.6 points last month.
Thiel (Equitation on the Flat) captured a win over her opponent from OSU by a final score of 86-73. She also registered the highest score against Georgia, defeating her competition 85-80 to earn MOP honors.
The Big 12 Horsemanship Rider of the Month, Mootz, garnered wins in every meet she competed in throughout the month of February and averaged 75.5 during the month. She recorded her season-high of 78 against South Carolina.
Scheckel (Reining) earned MOP honors against OSU after defeating her opponent 73.5-71. On the season, the sophomore owns a 6-0 record and two MOP honors.
Equitation over Fences Rider of the Month
Katie Schell, Oklahoma State, So., Cleveland, Ohio

Grace Thiel, Baylor, So., Easton, Kan.

- Garnered wins in every meet she competed in throughout the month of February and averaged 75.5 during the month.

Sydney Scheckel, Baylor, So., Richmond, Kan.
- Named MOP against OSU after defeating her opponent 73.5-71.
- On the season, the sophomore owns a 6-0 record and two MOP honors.
