Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton and TCU’s Jordan Moore shared Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, while K-State’s Christianna Carr was named Freshman of the Week. A five-person media panel selects the weekly award winners.
Carleton averaged 25 points and 11.5 rebounds in victories over Texas and Texas Tech last week. The senior scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win at Texas Tech. Carleton added 23 points, corralled 12 rebounds and dished out seven assists in the Cyclones’ 82-73 win at Texas. The honor is the third consecutive for Carleton and the sixth this season. She has won the award 12 times during her career.
Moore, a first-time honoree, tallied an average of 25.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in TCU’s two road wins last week. She matched a career-high with 28 points, while adding nine rebounds at Kansas. In the victory at Oklahoma, Moore connected on 9-of-14 for 23 points, snagged 12 rebounds and dished out a career-best five assists.
Carr helped K-State extend its winning streak to four games by averaging 15.5 points and shooting 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from the field. Carr netted 21 points and seven rebounds in the win over West Virginia. She added 10 points and two boards in the victory over Texas Tech. The weekly honor is the second for Carr this season.
