Undefeated University of California-Irvine retained its spot atop the College League of Legends coaches poll going into Week 5 of the competition.
Thirty seven teams remain unbeaten in the non-conference-affiliated regions of going into the next Swiss matches, and the format could lead to some major shakeups in the poll in the weeks to come.
This week will be the first wave of a slew of upcoming top-25 matchups. In the East conference, there are five matches between teams either ranked or receiving votes in the Week 5 poll: No. 4 Harrisburg University vs. University of Toronto, No. 6 Western Ontario vs. No. 25 Rochester Institute of Technology, No. 14 McMaster University vs. No. 23 York University and No. 13 Stony Brook vs. No. 16 University of Ottawa are all on the docket this week.
Two upcoming Big Ten matchups, No. 17 Michigan vs. No. 11 Maryland and Ohio State vs. No. 21 Rutgers, are worth keeping an eye on as well.
