Kansas redshirt senior Jessica Washington earned her second Big 12 Player of the Week honor this season, while Oklahoma’s Taylor Robertson was tabbed Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Washington boasted 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and shot 50 percent (16-of-32) from the field in the Jayhawks’ Duel in the Desert tournament division win. The senior scored 15 points against Washington State and added 22 versus Northwestern to pick up MVP honors for the tournament. The weekly award is the third in Washington’s career.
Robertson averaged 19.0 points and a .542 (13-of-24) field goal percentage in games against top-ranked UConn and SMU. The freshman from McPherson, Kansas, tallied 23 points, the most points scored against the Huskies this season, while knocking down six three-pointers. She followed up with five treys and 15 points in the win at SMU.
