Carleton and Robertson Grab Weekly Awards

November 19, 2018

Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton was named the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Oklahoma’s Taylor Robertson took home Big 12 Freshman of the Week for a second consecutive week.

Carleton led Iowa State to a Preseason WNIT Championship and earned a unanimous tournament MVP honor. The senior averaged 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in wins over Auburn and No. 24 Miami. With nine seconds remaining, she scored the game-winning layup against the Tigers to secure the Cyclone victory. The weekly accolade is the seventh in her career.

Robertson averaged 19.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in OU’s contests against Northwestern State and USF. She netted 20 points and six treys in the win over Northwestern State, while adding 18 points against the Bulls. The freshman has made 18 3-pointers through the first three games – the second-most ever by a Sooner to begin a season.
