Baylor soccer (20-5, 8-1 Big 12) continues its run in the NCAA Soccer Championship after defeating No. 3 Virginia (16-5-1, 7-3 ACC) 2-1 Sunday night at Betty Lou Mays Soccer Field.
For the first time in program history, the Bears are making back-to-back trips to NCAA Quarterfinals. BU’s Julie James got the Bears on the board first after scoring in the sixth minute. The Cavaliers found the equalizer in the 17th minute to tie the game at the half. In the 54th minute, Kennedy Brown headed home the winning goal on a cross in from Reagan Padgett.
This marks the fifth time since 2011 a Big 12 team has earned a spot in the Quarterfinals.
BU will take on No. 1 Georgetown on Saturday, November 24 at 11 a.m. CT in Washington D.C.
