Andrew Koustik, Jordan Windle and Joanna Evans from Texas and Isabella Ashdown from TCU received week 3 Big 12 swimming and diving accolades.
Koustik was tabbed Men’s Swimmer of the Week, for the first time in his career, after winning the 200 butterfly and setting the 14th-fastest pace this year in the NCAA (1:46.43). The freshman also earned second place in his first 400 IM clocking in at 3:57.39. Both times were season-bests for the Longhorns.
Evans received Women’s Swimmer of the Week for the fourth time in her career, after capturing four first place finishes in the 200, 500 and 1000 freestyle events against No. 5 California and No. 6 Texas A&M. The senior has won the 500 freestyle event at every meet for the Longhorns during the 2018-19 campaign.
Windle earned Men’s Diver of the Week for the second consecutive week and seventh time in his career, after having one first place and three second place finishes in the one and three-meter events against No. 12 Texas A&M and No. 15 Tennessee. The sophomore has finished in the top-three of every event he has competed in during the 2018-19 season.
Ashdown was awarded Women’s Diver of the Week for earning a pair of conference wins over Iowa State in the one and three-meter diving events. The sophomore diver also set a season-best against Trinity in the one-meter dive with a score of 305.90.
