Baylor, West Virginia Advance to Big 12 Championship Final

KANSAS CITY – No. 1-seeded Baylor defeats No. 5-seed Texas Tech 2-1 in overtime to advance to the Big 12 Soccer Championship match Sunday. 

The Bears will play the winner of Game 6 against No. 2-seed West Virginia and No. 3-seed Texas this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. CT, which will be featured on FS1.

Baylor returns to its second straight Big 12 Championship final after defeating No. 5-seed Texas Texas 2-1 in overtime. 

Midfielder Julie James scored a header to put the Bears up one with one minute left in the first half.

The Red Raiders battled back and scored the equalizer from Kirsten Davis at the 55th minute to tie the game. The two squads remained scoreless for the final 35 minutes, sending the match into overtime. 

With just two minutes into OT, Baylor senior Jackie Crowther notched the golden goal on a 25-yard strike that touched the top corner of the net. After the 2-1 victory, BU improves to 17-4 and advances to its second consecutive Big 12 title game and third overall. Texas Tech drops to 13-5-2 after the setback.
