Cyera Hintzen of Texas was named the 2018 Big 12 Soccer Offensive Player of the Year while Bianca St. Georges of West Virginia earned Defensive Player of the Year. TCU’s Messiah Bright and Texas’ Julia Grosso share Freshman of the Year, while Baylor’s Paul Jobson was named Coach of the Year.

With Hintzen’s honor, Texas earns it first offensive accolade in school history. The junior forward currently leads the Big 12 in goals (10), points (29) and is tied for fourth in match-winning goals (three).

St. Georges became the seventh Mountaineer to receive Defensive Player of the Year. The Senior CLASS Award finalist leads the team with six goals and has played a crucial role in WVU’s backline helping the defense post nine shutouts and holding Big 12 opponents to five goals.

Bright made history as the first Horned Frog to win a share of Freshman of the Year. The forward is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (three) and is third on the team with five goals. Grosso becomes the third-straight Longhorn to earn the newcomer award. The midfielder scored her first two collegiate goals, in one match, after missing six contests due to international competition with the Canadian Women’s Senior National Team.

Jobson led the Bears to a current 16-4 overall mark and 8-1 Big 12 record while leading the program to its first Conference regular season title since 1998. Jobson also coached the team to the most home wins (10) in a regular season in program history.
