Baylor earned the No. 1 seed in the 2018 Big 12 Soccer Championship set to begin Sunday, October 28.
BU (16-4, 8-1) claimed its second Big 12 soccer regular-season championship after finishing conference play with 24 points. Baylor closed out the regular season with a 1-0 win over Oklahoma. The regular-season title is the first for BU since winning the crown in 1998.
The Bears will take on No. 8-seed Iowa State (4-13-2, 2-6), which made the Championship with a 2-1 win over K-State.
West Virginia (11-4-3, 7-2) is the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7-seed Oklahoma (7-9-2, 3-5-1). No. 3-seed Texas (13-3-2, 5-3-1) will face No. 6-seed Kansas (11-5-2, 5-4), while No. 4 TCU (12-4-2, 5-3-1) will play No. 5 Texas Tech (13-4-1, 5-3-1).
The Big 12 Soccer Championship returns to Swope Soccer Village and will be played over two weekends for the first time in Conference history. The first round will take place on Sunday, , followed by the semifinals on Friday, November 2. The championship match will be played on Sunday, November 4. The championship will feature the Big 12’s top-eight teams competing for the postseason title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship.
One-day passes are on sale for $5, while three-day all-session passes are available for $12. A group one-day pass is also available for $4 if 10 or more passes are purchased. Fans interested in attending can purchase tickets by calling the Kansas City Sports Commission at 816-389-4193.
Additionally, fans can watch the first two days of action for free on the Big 12 Digital Network by visiting Big12Sports.com. The Championship title game will air at 2:30 p.m. on FS1 on Sunday, Nov. 4.
