Big 12 Cross Country Championship Set

October 24, 2018

Ames, Iowa – The 2018 Big 12 Cross Country Championship will take place on Friday, October 26, as Iowa State hosts the men’s and women’s championship at the Iowa State Cross Country Course.

Entering the Conference championship, ISU is currently ranked No. 6 in the men’s national poll, while the women’s team is currently ranked No. 17. Both programs are the highest ranked Big 12 programs in the USTFCCCA national coaches’ poll, with Oklahoma State following at No. 23 on the men’s side.

Iowa State, won the championship in both men’s and women’s cross country just a season ago, as the Cyclones will look to take advantage of its home course and produce repeat champions.

The last time a program won back-to-back championships was back in 2016 as OSU won nine-straight championships in men’s cross country, dating back to the 2008 season.

On the women’s side, the Cyclones will look to win its third championship in a row – a feat that they last completed during the 2011-2013 span.

Video highlights and full results will be available following the races at Big12Sports.com. Full coverage from Ames will also be available on Big 12 social media platforms with #Big12XC serving as the official hashtag for the event.
