Baylor Wins 2018 Big 12 Match Play Tournament

The Baylor Bears won the inaugural Big 12 Match Play Tournament by defeating Kansas 5-1 in the Championship Match.

The Jayhawks and the Cowboys tied in the last match of Pool Play 3-3-0. After winning more holes in the match, Kansas was named the winner of Pool A with eight total points. The Bears were the leaders of Pool B after defeating K-State 4-0-2. BU finished the final round of Pool Play with 12 total points.

The team of Garrett May, Colin Kober, Braden Bailey, Ryan Grider and Mark Reppe led Baylor to the title as the Bears won all of their matches.

Fifth Round Results: 

Oklahoma State and Kansas tie, A/S

TCU def. West Virginia, 4-1-1

Texas def. Oklahoma, 3-2-1

Baylor def. K-State, 4-0-2

Iowa State and Texas Tech have a bye.

Championship Match:  

Baylor def. Kansas, 5-1

Consolation Matches:

Texas def. Oklahoma State, 3-2-1

TCU def. K-State, 3-2-1

Oklahoma and Texas Tech tie, A/S

West Virginia def. Iowa State, 4-2
