Day one of the inaugural Big 12 Match Play Tournament concluded Friday evening as Oklahoma State and Kansas are both tied for the lead in Pool A with six points and Oklahoma leads Pool B with four points.
The Cowboys are tied for first in Pool A after winning matches against both Texas Tech (4-0-2) and West Virginia (4-1-1). Kansas is tied with OSU after defeating both TCU and Texas Tech 3-2-1.
The Sooners are the leaders in Pool B after beating Iowa State (4-1-1) and tying with Kansas State. Baylor and Texas are tied for second with three points.
Each team will play matches during four sessions and have one session off. A team receives three points for a win and one point for a tie. The Championship Match on Sunday afternoon will feature the team with the highest point total from Pool A against the team with the highest point total from Pool B.
Play will resume with a Saturday morning tee time of 8 a.m. CT at the Club at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas. Live scoring and results will be available on Big12Sports.com.
