Florida is ranked 22nd, texas 17th.  So, plus 5 for the RRR.  Of course, texas is about to fall out of the rankings, so even that is ephemeral.

On the other hand, the powerful and talented and respected Georgia Bulldogs are ranked 2nd.  OU is a mere 7th, really out of the running for anything beyond some quasi-major bowl game.  They certainly don't want to be anywhere near another game with the Dawgs so soon after last season where they got whomped badly once the hangovers cleared.

And of course, it just means more.

At times, we folks over there have to come over here and educate a few of youse about what is what.

Somebody has to do it.

Just barely.  And subsequent to Texas secession, the city of Austin petitioned to secede from the state of Texas and remain in the Union.

Which is why it is appropriate that we sent the Aggies off to the Confederate States of America Conference, while The University of Texas, located in Austin, remained free and clear of the influences of the dirty South.

Sounds like you're gonna have a ball when we join the SEC.

I hear that everyone should consider moving to Austin, it's such a nice place with little traffic and cool bars and great food.

We'll have OU with us, and be reunited with old rivals A&M and Arkansas, so it'll be alright.

America is clearly unified on Texas secession.

We have two P5 conferences with the word "Big" in their title.  To some, that might smack of hubris.  Maybe not.  But, it's the number after that that can be tough to explain to a Frenchman, or woman.

"So, the Big Ten must contain ten teams, right?"

"No, sorry, they have 14."

"Well, surely the Big 12 has 12 teams?"

"No, they have ten.  Folks around those parts have problems with numbers."
