K-State has done a better job of catching up!
I'm glad OU/Texas still lives on.  Too many rivalries are ending in the new age of conference realignment. The Big XII is killing the KSU/Iowa State streak of consecutive games soon.

The current series record sure looks a lot better than it did.  61-25-5 when I paid my last tuition was pretty bad, even though the majority of that came before facemasks and plastic helmets!

We won't discuss the impossible hole that has developed in the basketball series after they hired Danny Manning's Dad to be an assistant coach...

Probably more devious, and I must confess-- both genius and bold--than designating a storage closet to store a .45 and a couple of magazines in to get around the steel rationing.

But the government mandates and restrictions seem to have never stopped.
so, any and all fieldhouses constructed after 1941 are guilty

I don't think you currently possess the hops to make a leap like that.

Then again, I thought you were old when we first started posting in the same places in 1998.  And now look at us all.

Less than a year away from being on "this" board with this group of posters for 20 years!

By my reckoning my first post on collegefootballnews.com would've been on Oct. 9, 2006, as I believe it was the Monday after the LSU/UF game.

There were a lot more Sooners around here then.  A couple of Texas Tech guys too.  We've lost a Longhorn, and another has been truant for years now.  We also lost an Okie. St. fan.  There was a KSU lady who has been AWOL for several years.

The SEC board was hopping with posters.  Several more LSU and Tennessee fans, a couple more Georgia fans, at least 4 Arkansas fans, and a couple more Florida fans.  There was even a Clanga representative, PharmDawg, though he was rarely seen even when I remember him being here.  Auburn had a decent representation as well.  Two Ole Miss guys I can think of.  And one South Carolina fan who I really miss....a sort of SEC Anti-Homer.

The PAC board actually had several posters and active threads.  Maybe I should say, "There actually was a PAC board."

The Big Ten board talked about football, instead of literally everything else.  We lost the only (I think) Northwestern fan a few years ago.

Never went to the ACC board much, but I don't remember it ever having that much traffic anyway when I dropped in.  There was probably a Big East board....don't remember.

It's crazy how quick the time flew, in some ways.  In other ways, it seems like a lifetime ago.

Once you're down 15 or 20 games in the series, it's a long haul to get even.

The OU-Texas series started out somewhat similarly: 29-11-2 in Texas' favor. It is currently 65-51-4. So, 78 games later, with streaks on both sides, we've gained a net of 4 wins and 2 ties.

K-State has done a better job of catching up!
For most of its history, A&M was pretty much equivalent to something like The Citadel or VMI, a small military college. You HAD to be in the corps, etc.  enrollment about 6,000 at its peak.

We actually did pretty good thru WWII, and then from the late 40’s u til the 60’s we were atrocious, mostly due to lack of interest in playing Army .  1963 was the year we changed from A&M College to University, started admitting women, and making corps optional. I think in my lifetime the A&M Texas series is close to even, maybe 1-2 games behind in favor of Texas. But the all-time series is seriously lopsided in favor of Texas and we’ll never come close to catching up.

My first time posting was the Monday after the 1998 Big XII championship game.  The sea had parted by the upsets that had occurred, and the perennial doormat Kitties were on the verge of the BCS championship game, up 15 in the 4th quarter against the Aggies.  More than a personal generation ago--wife was pregnant with our first, and she now has her own daughter.

A fairly small group of Cat fans migrated from CNNSI to Ray's site.  Wildcat00 is a lawyer, and I communicated with her outside the boards, but she has evidently deleted her Facebook account.  Skicat got a job that doesn't allow the free time to goof off on here.  I wonder how much money it cost me to spend the time I did on the boards--back then we had dial up internet, and my phone fell off the desk one day and shut off the ringer for line 2.  Whenever I was on the internet, a caller was unable to get through at all for God only knows how many months until I figured that out.

Oh well, just gotta shake your head sometimes.  Could be worse.
