Wow, Hopkins is such a Lacrosse blue blood that they remain ranked even as their odds of finishing with a winning record have become quite slim. 

By tying them and Rutgers at 20, it allows Penn St and Maryland to pad their resumes with at least one more ranked win. 

Or, worst case scenario, another "good loss"

Well I typically wait until all of the games are over before posting my weekly Lacrosse roundup. 

Technically it was the fourth, as the OSU varsity team went 9-3 vs the Michigan club team from the 60s thru the 80s.

Technically it was their first win in the series, it just wasn't OSU's first loss to Michigan in Lacrosse. So they may have been correct, depending on how they worded it. But if they said it the same way as you did, then it'd be wrong.
