Seems rich for Stafford. Is that what they had to offer to get rid of Goff's contract?
Nah, supposedly Washington offered more, but the Lions said they didn't want him to an awful team. 4-5 years w/ a fringe top 10 QB isn't bad for what will prob be 2 mid 20s 1st rounders.

Goff is more than serviceable w/ a running/play action game. Lions should get one of those

Over the past 4 years (17-20) PFF ranks Stafford #10 among QBs, Goff is #13
Goff has better everything- yet Stafford is ranked better by PFF's advanced metrics.

Goff has way better coaching/stability play-calling in X's and O's wunderkid McVey, Goff has had great OL's and run games- Stafford has never even had a run game- Goff has Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey and a Rams defense that has been upper echelon those entire 4 years- the Lions defense hasn't been anywhere close. And oh yeah Goff has also had better WR's. Lol.

Stafford has had to pretty much carry a sad sack of shit the last 4 years with mediocrity at every position on the team except maybe WR- and he's still performed significantly better than Goff- who over the last 4 years has had one of the best situations of any QB in the league.

Provided Brad Holmes/John Dorsey aren't affected by the Lions draft day curses - that's larceny.Crap Goff straight up may have been worth it.He got to the Big Dance Stafford I don't believe Stafford has ever won a play off game. While the last season and a half Goff has been trending down not sure he's thru.Same with Wentz
C'mon man. Goff didn't get them to the big dance. Todd Gurley, their running game, and a hellacious defense lead by Aaron Donald got them there.

Goff is literally only good when the RB's are rushing for 150+ a game and he can hit wide open throws off of a play-action. He can't read defenses, he makes really dumb turnovers and mistakes, and he's not a leader. The Rams were openly trying to get rid of him. McVey was done with his mediocrity and said- I want better at QB.

Sorry Mdot don't cherry pick 3 years back when Goff was in his groove throwing darts no one would make that trade. And let's not forget Stafford for a spell was tossing to some guy named CJ.Straight up in their primes which Goff still might hit I'd prolly tap Stafford but still this is a windfall for Detroit. And Stafford didn't want to go to NE because Patricia landed there - good move on his part.If you think about it The Rams screwed the pooch,I'd bet dollars and donuts they could have grabbed Watson at what was offered.Any team that would top that is delusional.Just one well placed hit renders a deal like that one sided

Taking on Goff’s contract was definitely a reason why they got so much.

Watson is going to require like 4 1st round picks and maybe some additional stuff. He’s going to smash this Stafford deal. He’s younger and better.

Stafford is being slept on though. He is legit and his arm talent is right up there with Mahomes or Rodgers- the guy can make ridiculous throws into tight windows- he’s got a straight up cannon.

Bull,a move like that has disaster written all over it.Watson may have all the measurables but that's a fools errand.Just because the Rams over paid doesn't mean every one else has to.They backed up the trucks in Baltimore for Flacco and he actually won a Championship but it was one step forward two steps back after that - they couldn't pay anyone else.Football more than any other sport is a team game.Take Hoops LeBron/Jordan could carry 4 schmucks into the playoffs - they've already done it.Tom Brady/Bradshaw/Montana/Elway at their best could never do that - just way too many positions to satisfy

There isn’t a high enough price to be paid for a true franchise QB. The NFL will over pay for QBs. Always have always will.

Watson is going to bring a kings ransom.

I think it'll be a stand off,he hasn't proven shit.He has all the tools but the asking price is still too high. You won't/can't staff a roster after losing all of that.Suck it up and go play for a shit team many have had to - or sit and lose a couple of million before you realize you really have no problems

He’s proven to be one of the best QBs in the NFL. He lead the entire league in pass yards with 4,800+ and had 33 TD’s vs 7 INT. Texans should trade him if they can get a boatload in return and just rebuild.

This past season yes in 2020 QB rankings had him 4th behind Rodgers,Mahomes and Josh Allen
2017 PFF rated him 29th in the league his QB rating was 83.5,
2018 PFF ranked him 11th with a 61.8 QBR
2019 PFF ranked him 12th  with a QBR of 70.5

My point is I think Houston should have grabbed that chance if it was offered.Teams would emaciate themselves if they coughed up any more.Going to be interesting that is for sure

Yup. Patricia is a clown. And hey who would’ve thought that the “Patriot Way” doesn’t work when you don’t have Tom Brady in the locker room to lead and all those Super Bowl and AFC Conference championship banners hanging from the rafters in the stadium.

When will NFL teams learn. Every head coach hire from the Belichik tree has just been complete dog shit clown show after complete dog shit clown show. Man-jina, Crennel, McDaniels, Weiss, Patricia, BOB, and I’m sure there’s others I’m forgetting. Brian Flores seems like the only one that’s working but it’s still early and plenty of time for that one to blow up and fall apart.

The sad thing is Patricia was like the 8th go at it.  We knew.  This wasn't Weiss or Crenell 15 years ago
