Lions trade Stafford to the LA Rams for Jared Goff. Lions also get a 3rd rd pick in 2021 draft, a 1st rd pick in 2022 and a 1st rd pick in 2023.

Seems rich for Stafford. Is that what they had to offer to get rid of Goff's contract?

Goff doesn't suck- but he's close to sucks. He's mediocre as it gets. If the Lions could turn around and unload him to a team desperate for a QB like Indi and get a 1st or 2nd in return- they have to do it.

The trade makes sense for both sides. 

from the lions standpoint, I like that they are playing the long game.   They have some interesting options now. 
They need help badly in defense and can get some in the draft.  Also, they could still draft a QB at 7 and develop him for a year like Chiefs did with Mahomes.  

this will be fun to watch.

Provided Brad Holmes/John Dorsey aren't affected by the Lions draft day curses - that's larceny.Crap Goff straight up may have been worth it.He got to the Big Dance Stafford I don't believe Stafford has ever won a play off game.While the last season and a half Goff has been trending down not sure he's thru.Same with Wentz

Dorsey is a peculiar cat,does some magnificent things then follows them up with some real head scratchers.The stars could finally be aligning right for the Lions

Over the past 4 years (17-20) PFF ranks Stafford #10 among QBs, Goff is #13

grab one of the top 3 or 4 QBs in the draft at #7

Ya but he has to be the guy,they have Goff to fall back on - no need to pressure a pick.Jimmy Hasbeen drafted a 28 yr old Brandon Weeden,then the cocky  Johnny Footbong.Have to make those high ones count.Look for Lions to stick with Goff for at least the '21 season then it gets cheaper to unload him if things don't work out - from what I've read.Moving forward you have to love this if you're a Lions fan
