What a snag by Diggs.I don't think Brady will evade the KC rush like Allen has been able to - 43 yrs old legs can't move like Allen

Henson was an Adonis. He was just on a completely different level than a young Navarre.

It's easy to dream on guys who never actually did it.  Great at baseball and football, didn't succeed in either.  Fun stuff.
18 minutes?  Is it a video of every play of his career?!?

Yeah, except he did succeed. His first year as a starter was his junior year- and he was phenomenal. He started 9 games (he missed the first 3 games that season with a foot injury)- and in his 9 starts he completed 61% of his passes (in a system that at the time took deep shots down the field- no dinking and dunking and cheap easy completions like everyone does today- and in that system he threw for just under 2,000 passing yards and 18 TD passes vs 4 INT's and he also ran for 2 TD's on the ground. He threw for 300+ yards and 3 TD's and ran for another TD vs Ohio State in Columbus that year.

Anyone who knows anything about that era of Michigan football and the archaic passing game they had knows that season and those numbers Henson put up his junior year in 9 games was special. He would've absolutely taken it to the next level had he come back as a senior and quit chasing those MLB dreams. He didn't- and his senior season and NFL career were basically lost forever. He was a much better NFL QB prospect than he was MLB prospect. He was as talented a college QB as I have ever seen.

I'm saying his career didn't live up to his talent/hype.  That's all.  It's unfortunate.

Well, Lloyd Carr basically burned his redshirt as a freshman in '98 for no reason. He did it just because Henson's father told him to do it. That simple. Which was dumb because they had a RS Jr who was named the clear cut starter before the fall camp ever began- Tom Brady. Henson's father used to hang around Michigan practices all the time and he basically told Lloyd Carr when Drew signed that he's not going to Michigan to sit on the bench- you ain't redshirting him. Carr said yes sir. Carr basically broke all his own rules and gave Henson special treatment and bent over backwards to keep him happy. Henson was treated like a golden child before he ever took one snap of football at Michigan.

And then Henson's father threatened that Drew would go play baseball if he didn't get to play more- which is why Carr tried that stupid two QB thing in '99. This is after Brady went 10-2 as the full-time starter in '98 AND Henson missed the entire spring ball practices in '99 because he was off playing minor league baseball.

Henson wasn't allowed to just sit and develop, and he wasted too much time in the off-seasons playing baseball. He should've been redshirted and he should've been a RS Frosh in '99 and the back-up QB- not a true sophomore who was splitting starter time.

Lloyd Carr just wound up losing him to MLB anyway. Carr should've grew a sack and told him if you're not going to quit baseball and commit to football and accept a redshirt then go play baseball and pound sand.

His JR year is still the gold standard of all Michigan QB's.

How is it better than Harbaugh’s Junior year?

Henson was phenomenal.  Brady was solid as a junior, but had a shot to put it all together in his senior year but Carr did this dumbass rotation, where one of them got the first quarter, the other got the second quarter, and whichever one was better got the second half.

It was an injustice to both of them.  Brady "won" the right to get the second half in five of the first six games, as Michigan started 6-0.  In a matchup of top 10 teams, Henson got the second half against MSU, but fell behind by 17.  For the first, and I believe only time all year, they switched, and went back to Brady, who got Michigan back to within 3, very easily.  MSU won, by going for it on 4th down, and completing a pass to Burress, knowing if they gave the ball back to Brady, he was going to win.

That Michigan team wound up losing the Big Ten to a Wisconsin team which they beat, with Brady, but beat the SEC champ Alabama in the Orange Bowl.

1999 was by far the best the Big Ten has ever been

Elvis Grbac had a better year in '91.
Todd Collins' 1993 was basically the same.
.
But to be fair, here are the passer ratings for the #1 QB under Lloyd Carr, by year:
1995:  118
1996:  127
1997:  138
1998:  133
1999:  138
2000:  153
2001:  116
2002:  122
2003:  134
2004:  133
2005:  130
2006:  143
2007:  131
So yes, Henson easily had the best year under Carr.  But it wasn't the best ever, or anything like that.

I miss you one, by going forward on 4th down, and completing a pass to Burress, knowing if they gave the ball back to Brady, he was going to win.
