You Drew Brees has a collapsed lung and five fractured ribs. Wonder if this is the end for him. Dude is 41 years old with little kids that are getting older. His arm was already shot before this injury. He came really close to taking a tv job before deciding to come back to the Saints.
Think he and Brady are both super competitive and to an extent they both know there are all-time records on the line that will be owned by whichever of them retires last.

I think both he and Brady don't have the same arm they had 5 years ago, but I wouldn't call either "shot" yet. It's more like Tiger last year at the Masters... You know there are certain shots you can no longer hit, so you don't attempt those and just hit the ones you can hit--perfectly.

I think Brees wants another ring, though. If he gets it this year, I think he walks away regardless of whatever Brady does. If he doesn't get a ring, and he thinks New Orleans has the roster to get there, and Brady is still around, I think he might stick around one more.

Certainly would not have guessed that 13 years later, the two guys in the front would be starting against each other on MNF, after battling to be the primary backup to the guy standing behind them...who started a game in the same season for the Patriots.

Yeah, I just don't see the arm to push the ball downfield at all in Brees. He's still accurate and smart as ever, but he can't go deep anymore. Brady still can.

Imagine had San Diego just stuck with Brees and drafted Larry Fitzgerald #1 in 2004 instead of Eli and then trading Eli for Rivers. They'd have had Brees at QB, LaDanian Tomlinson (HOF'er) at RB, Larry Fitzgerald (future HOF'er) at WR 1, Vincent Jackson (multiple Pro Bowl player) at WR 2, and Antonio Gates (future HOF'er) at TE. Brees would've had a lot more than 1 ring right now.

They did also get Shawne Merriman (who was arguably the best LB in the league for his first 2-3 years in the league, before falling off a cliff), and Nate Kaeding (who went to some Pro Bowls), with the picks they got in that swap.

Merriman was only good when he was on the juice. As soon as it was found out he was on 'roids and couldn't take them anymore, he fell right off a cliff as a player. Literally.

You add Larry Fitzgerald to that mix with LaDanian AND Anontio Gates- holy shit man.

Bears should've signed Cam Newton for $1 million, cut Trash-binsky and kept Foles as the back-up to Cam.
They could have, but they also should have drafted one of several QB's selected after they foolishly traded up to #2 to get this clown.

Of course can't forget the egg lobby and perhaps some blind robins if you can remember those(smoked herring).I believe that harkens back to the day when Taverns were mostly Northern European Types

Arizona Cardinals @ Seattle Seahawks tonight. I'm thinking Seattle gets back on track against a Cardinals team coming off a very emotional, self-congratulatory win over Buffalo. The Cardinals will be trying to handle Russell Wilson without FOUR defensive lineman, the best of whom, Peters is out for a while after injuries last Sunday.
