Tom Cruise, suburban privilege, teenage ambition, the Porsche, synthesizer music, and that famous dance scene make Risky Business one of the clearest portraits of early-’80s aspiration and anxiety. It is stylish, memorable, and inseparable from Cruise’s rise to superstardom.
(12) Spaceballs (1987)
Spaceballs survives because its parody, characters, merchandising jokes, and endlessly repeated dialogue became part of pop culture. Even though it takes place in a fictional universe, its humor and staying power are strong enough to earn a cultural-impact exception.

Tough draw for Spaceballs, as much fun as it was.

Risky Business is quintessential 80s. Coulda been a 2 or 3 seed pretty easily.
