I don't know why Michigan insists on playing this zone defense.  They have been torched all game.  The CBs aren't helping, they have had some interference penalties.
Because when they played man last week- Rocky freaking Lombardi shredded them on deep balls. Their CB’s suck. Doesn’t matter what scheme they play.

Man under with 2 safeties to help overtop would be better than this.  It's painful to watch, especially on 3rd down.

ASU's top CB Jack Jones out with cramps and USC taking advantage.

Serious question- how much does Ohio State score vs Michigan this year? I legitimately think they’ll drop at least 70 points on Don Brown and this defense. I honestly think they could even get to 100 if they went for it. Olave & Wilson are future 1st round picks. Fields is going to be a top 5 pick in the draft. Michigan’s secondary is going to get annihilated.

USC goes for it on 4th and 1 on the ASU 8 and LB Merlin Robertson stops USC 2 yards short. Hell of a play.

ASU passing game has been ineffective (surprisingly) but thankfully found a running game. 215 yard on the ground vs USC through 3 quarters.

How you feeling about the Edwards hire, Frog Face?

Looks promising, after looking so damn weird. Sometimes failed NFL coaches have good runs in college. This looks like it could be one of those.

Pete, SoS, Saban. It's possible, if they can start pulling in the top state players and dip into California and Texas.

He winds up losing by only 20, vastly exceeding expectations, and gets an extentsion.

Indiana taking plays out of Purdue's playbook, pass, pass, pass, punt, leave plenty of time on the clock with a nice lead in the 4th.

I'll admit I was quite skeptical at first, especially since it seemed like our AD was simply hooking his old buddy up with a job (Ray Anderson used to be Herm's agent way back in the day) but despite no immediate extraordinary results on the field I'm definitely feeling good about it.

Herm has taken the right approach, he's more of a program CEO and motivator who let's his assistants do the large bulk of the coaching. He realized you need to recruit to compete and hiring Antonio Pierce out of one of SoCal's best HS programs (Long Beach Poly) has been easily his smarted move. Hiring Al Luginbill as a talent/recruit evaluator has been huge too, he has an eye for the 3 star kids who are likely gonna blow up. Herm's biggest mistake was promoting Graham's WR coach Rob Likens to OC when he took over, who showed soon enough he was in over his head. Thankfully he rectified his mistake and nabbed a much better OC from Boise St (Zak Hill).

Long story short: Herm has been trying to rebuild the ASU football program from the ground up, hired recruiters in his assistant ranks, and has us headed in the right direction.

To be fair, he wasn't left with much to work with.

Oops, I posted in the wrong SoC thread:

Not sure what is up with Michigan's D. The Hoosiers had ~300 yards on the Wolverines IN THE FIRST HALF.  Against the Nittany Lions they only had ~200 yards in the whole game including OT.
