?
He posted something about how he was a no-star and then suddenly a three star, and stars mean nothing. And that's mostly fine. I don't totally mind a kid going on about being underrated or whatnot.

But what he didn't say was that before he was a three star, he was missing something else. Offers. From anyone. Because he was a mess academically. He needed straight As, plus upping his test score his last season of HS. He needed a perfect semester and got it.

And then he never got past four and five-stars in the lineup. Again, I don't mind a guy saying he deserved better if it's about talent or production. But he didn't have any offers to play college football, and did that because he failed to do the minimum up till the end.

Herrien’s grades have been good since he got to UGA. Why? He had a simple answer.
“College is easier to me than high school,” Herrien said.
Say what?
“It’s just easy,” he said.
When pressed, Herrien explained.
“The only thing that really changed for me was when I got into school, when I got to college, to make sure I stayed on top of my grades and never let myself get below,” Herrien said. “So I try to stay on top of everything. That’s all I do.”

They're lying.

I don't think sitting out would have an iota of impact on draft position.  I think getting injured would.

Any GM who would say that doesn't have a job anymore.  It's adorable and malarkey.

If you're going to sit out against Alabama, why didn't ya sit out against Ohio State?
if you're going to sit out the Citrus Bowl on Jan 1st, why wouldn't ya sit out the Fiesta or the Peach on Dec 28th?

I'm pretty sure the players with first round potential nearly all view this as a business.  Many bought insurance against injury.  They will get advice, hopefully sound advice, and likely take it.  A guy on the cusp may well play because of the drop off if you slide to Day Two.  A guy in the top ten should sit out unless his team is in the playoff.

Otherwise, it's an exhibition game.

(In other news, James Cook at UGA will be sitting out, but because he was arrested driving with open container and expired DL, and he's underage.)

so your team is in the playoff???

is that more important than your financial future?

if your in the playoff there are two more games to get injured - why risk it if your worried about injury?

Being in the playoff changes the equation somewhat.  For some, it's enough.  Some may sit out even then.  It's their choice obviously.

Each player will decide obviously, I'm not going to think less of a player who sits out for his health.

If sitting out is OK, when does it become OK?  Right before the big rivalry game, if you're not going to make the CFP?  Before the CCG if you're not going to make the CFP even with a win?  Or if you're big underdogs?

IMO, if you commit to play your senior season, you play your senior season, to include post-season games.  Your teammates are playing, your coaches are coaching, so why are you taking a pass?

That is the key word here. Thank you.
