So here's my unpopular alt-rock opinion.

Twenty One Pilots sucks. 
I'm ambivalent regarding Twenty One Pilots, I like a couple and don't like a couple.

I saw them live at the Formula1 race at COTA a couple years back, and they actually put on a great show.  Tons of energy, very talented at their craft.

The strange thing about my hatred for them is that I often like their sound (it can be all over the place tho). I liked them for a while when they first came out. But something just gnawed at me and grew that I just couldn't get around until I'd heard a lot more of their songs...

They're weird. All sorts of disjointed lyrics. Nearly every song with a strange interlude in the middle where they throw out some strange "supposed to be deep" phrase. 

I got the sense that it's all just an act. They're trying to be "artistic" but in reality it's just weirdness for weirdness' sake. 

IMHO, of course.

They're a teenage girl band.  My teenage girl loves them.  yuck.
