Week Zero SoC

Hawaii @ Colorado State is the top game, as a Mountain West crossover match up.

Wyoming @ New Mexico State is the only other FBS vs FBS match up.

UMass hosts Duquesne, and Rice hosts Prairie View.

I'll probably tune in for a half second to get a fix, but this just falls so flat.  I heard a proposal that the Group of 5 should try to own this weekend.  I like that.  I used to love the Kickoff and Pigskin Classics.  Absent that, at least give us a half schedule, with a couple Marquee GO5 games.  UCF-Fresno, Boise-FAU, Memphis-Toledo, Appy State-USF, Houston-NIU.  In an otherwise open weekend, they could generate a lot of buzz, and give themselves a change to get on the radar out of the gate.  As it is, I'll watch for a couple minutes, then probably wind up watching baseball.

That would be sweet.

There is money on the table, it will happen.  The Chick-fil-A thing has three games this year I think.

I'm going out with my wife sans kids.   I make it hard enough on her during the season, I usually give her a couple Sat nights during the college football season.

Rice avoids the upset in miraculous fashion, 31-28. It took a 12-0 4th quarter from the Owls, as well as a last second FG.

UMass edged the Dukes 63-15.

The Rainbows are up 17 on the Rams, heading into the 4th.

Hawaii hangs on for the Conference win on the road, giving the West Division a 1-0 leg up on the Mountain Division in the crossover series.

Wyoming beat NMSU by 22.
