« on: September 18, 2023, 11:53:49 AM »
All 14 teams are playing. Nine total games because five are league games.

  • Wisconsin (2-1) -5.5 at Purdue (1-2), Friday 7pm, FS1
  • Maryland (3-0) -7 at Michigan State (2-1), 330 NBC
  • Minnesota (2-1/1-0) -11.5 vs Northwestern (1-2/0-1), 730 BTN
  • Illinois (1-2/0-1) -14 vs FA(not I)U (1-2), 330 BTN
  • #24 Iowa (3-0) +14.5 at #7 Penn State (3-0/1-0), 730 CBS
  • Indiana (1-2/0-1) -17 vs Akron (1-2), 730 BTN
  • Nebraska (1-2/0-1) -20 vs LaTech (2-2), 330 BTN

Another must see night game.  Guess my plan will be to drink enough to pass out for four hours after the Noon game.

Not sure why the Gophers are under the Musco sun in Evanston. Seemed like a prime candidate to bury on Peacock at 1100.

That always worked at Purdue. Get completely smashed before the (noon) kickoff, survive the game, go back home and pass out for a while, then as soon as you manage to wake up from the fog, grab some hair o' the dog and get ready to party again.

The TV schedule is interesting.  For 2nd time in 3 weeks, no Big Ten games on Fox.  Although Neb and Iowa were technically on Fox 2 weeks ago as road teams in non-conference games.

Anyway,  technically the OSU-ND game on NBC is a Notre Dame TV game,  but instead of ND playing in afternoon like normal,  they moved the NBC ND game to prime time.    So the NBC Big Ten game got move to 3:30.

The CBS said, well if NBC does not have a Big Ten game in prime time, can we have one please?  Which is how Iowa-PSU ended up on CBS in prime time.

So you would think BTN would stay away from prime time but they got a couple of games on prime time too.

I am looking forward to 2024 when the TV schedule should be much more straight forward.

It seems overall like the networks are pulling back from sticking every moderately interesting game in prime time but this weekend sure doesn't show it.

I would guess BTN is running two channels in that time slot.

easily the best slate of games for any week so far.

the FSU @ Clemson game is fascinating to me, line is only FSU -2.....starting to think Clemson actually beats them....

Colorado has no shot imo. They can't run the ball at all, Travis Hunter is out, their defense can't stop anybody, and their OL is dog shit and Shedeur is going to be under pressure all game long.

Ole Miss vs Bama is going to be a struggle bus, ugly ass game imo. Flip a coin. Bama should win on paper, but wouldn't be shocked at all if Kiffin pulls off the upset- Bama is just not very good this year.

OSU @ ND is the best game by far this week. Could go either way, cannot wait to watch what should be an epic close fought slugfest.

Iowa has no shot vs Penn State. They just can't score points. Iowa's defense will keep it close for a bit, but then eventually will break from continually going 3 and out.

UCLA @ Utah is going to be interesting to see how true frosh QB Dante Moore looks vs a tough defense. Moore has looked excellent so far but they haven't played anyone. Utah is a salty ass team though, especially at home. Have a feeling they are going to make him look like a true freshman and he's going to play really bad and Utah will win comfortably.

Elevation is a huge factor at Utah. Going from elevation zero to 4000+ feet is not easy.
