down goes Bama
If only it mattered.  They're still safely in the playoff unless crazy shit happens.

This is why I disagree with Sam's take.....while he's completely correct that more teams are in play for a spot, the highest-ranked teams have less and less stakes the later we get into the season.   And I don't care if it's Florida, an SEC rival, or some far-flung team like Oregon or Ohio State, big-time games late in the year were SPECIAL.  Tension.  Heroes and goats (the bad kind) created.  The pinnacle of fandom is now gone, so that far more 'fans' of good/not great teams can have more motive to watch.

No tanks, mon.

Its not basketball.  The better teams still win in the CFP.  This creates stakes that ultimately dont matter

I dunno about that. Last year was wide open. This year looks wide open, too.

Really?

Do honestly believe that Clemson, Tennessee, SMU, Indiana, ASU, and Boise St had a chance?

I don't even think that Penn State and Notre Dame did.

The equivalent of a 2 seed won last year.  If thats as wide ipen as it gets, I stand by my point.  You could make it a 64 team tournament, and I bet youd never get anything lower than a 2 seed winning it

That leaves four teams with a chance, which is more than most years of the four team CFP. But also yea they did. ND with a much better chance if they played Texas.

Sherrone Moore should be fined $1,000 for every pass attempt
I'd gladly pay $1,000 a game to never have to watch this buffoon coach another game at Michigan.

if anyone was on the fence that he's not the guy- that ugly ass win should've proved it to them that he ain't.

they are 100000% losing on the road to Maryland next week. book it.

I think we are all on the same side.  The expanded playoff is better.  It makes more games matter, but in the end, you actually get the best teams.  2 and 4 didnt do either of those things

lm guessing they didnt want to do anything until whatever NCAA penalties were handed down, so that they could (a) sell whatever coach on the full picture, and (b) have Moore in place as a scapegoat if things went bad.

The thing is, its not great, but its also not bad.  If there was some obvious target, then sure.  But is there?  And its not like they are going 5-7 and HAVE to do something
