I was actually pretty pleased they did better than I thought they would.
Ibrahim didn’t leave till late in the third quarter and they gave up some yards to the big tens’ best but still held Minnesota to 4.4 yards per carry while gaining 7.7 yards per carry with their own offense. That’s probably the best running back they will see all year.
They held Minnesota to just over 200 yards passing but only 8.8 yards per pass. And remember their two starting corners, cam brown and seven Banks, did not play a single down in this game. They went with a true freshman at one corner and rotated 2 red shirt freshman at the other.
They also played six different linebackers for large portions of the game and gave them all a look.
As far as CJ Stroud, I was quite impressed. Remember, he had not even seen a crowded stadium let alone played in a game so to go into a hostile environment and throw for 300 yards and four touchdowns, I thought was pretty impressive. He looked shaky a little bit in the second quarter but he was an assassin in the second half.
