You'd expect him to have a better overall record, no doubt. But better results against Miami of Ohio? Kind of a red flag.

You have no idea how the game went along, because you don't care about Wisconsin. You just want to see Luke Fickell fail because he went 6-6 as an interim coach of a badly fractured team.

Very sad.

I'll be happy about the shutout.

The offense needs a lot of work.

I'd be embarrassed to celebrate a 13-point home win over Buffalo like this.
BUT he has made that program way more relevant than it had been in a long time.

That time that he inherited a Ferrari, and wrapped it around a tree? Yeah that wasn't too great.

I thought he was the right guy at Cincinnati, and enjoyed watching what he did there.

I'm not sure the Wisconsin job matches his skillset. Maybe if he goes all in on Tressel-ball he might have something there.

He inherited a Ferrari with no engine. That team was broken. Anyone could see that one coming.

Jerry Kill was better.

Not worth a Game Week thread for a MAC opponent, but after seeing yesterday, I expect more sluggishness, and a whatever win

Michigan State 28, Western Michigan 10

He lost seven games, Tying a school record for most losses in a season, a record that was set in 1897. He did it with a roster that only lost one game the previous season, and went undefeated the following season.

The Wisconsin win was fun though. What a finish.

Lost 1 game in 2010, to who, I wonder?

A true freshman QB was just as good as Terrelle Pryor? OSU didn't lose any other talent? OSU players were not rattled by their coach's resignation a couple months earlier?

Got it.

Jerry Kill was better.
I don't know about that. Last time we saw Kill he was seizing up on the sidelines, quitting on his team mid season, and quitting on his marriage to keep coaching without getting his epilepsy in order.

Last night went about how we thought it was going to go. OL was a work in progress on the ground but kept the pocket clean, Lindsey played a solid game, and they didn't need a shanked punt to get into scoring position. Finishing drives has always been a Fleck offense problem, and will likely remain so.

Based on the schedule, we might not know much about this team until October 17 when Nebraska comes to town.

Who has more starz, the 2011 OSU Buckeyes, or any roster that he's going to be able to scrape together at Wisconsin?

Braxton Miller was one of the greatest running QBs of all time. Dude was straight out of a videogame.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skMs8aOwBrM

Urban Meyer won his first 24 games with Braxton Miller at QB1, then won a NC with a pair of his backups.

I didn't expect Luke Fickell to do THAT, but 9-3, 8-4... maybe 7-5 if he really struggled. But 6-7?

Of course he learned a lot under Urban that did him well at Cincinnati, but it isn't working at Wisconsin. His best bet there would be to revert back to Tressel ball; punt and play defense, score when you're in the red zone. but Tressel ball Luke Fickell was the one that was HC of 2011 OSU, and that didn't go well.

He probably should have taken the WV job, where he could have still recruited the Hell out of PA and OH, while whooping up on a bunch of tomato cans in the Big 12.

The right HC for Wisconsin is the HC in Champagne, no?
