35,000 folks at the UCLA game???

This was UCLA's home crowd 5 minutes prior to Saturday night's kick off:

Reactions and Postgame analysis after the Bruins were thoroughly dominated on their home field 43-10 by a Utah team that outgained UCLA 493 to 220 yards - various quotes from UCLA Wire:

"UCLA sleepwalked through the first half, a disheartening beginning to Year 2 of the DeShaun Foster era in Westwood."

"UCLA could not have played any worse against Utah. Bruin fans need answers, and the coaching staff needs to make dramatic adjustments. It's a crisis...DeShaun Foster could not have done a worse job getting his team ready to play."

"The worst aspect of UCLA’s game was easily their rush defense, allowing 286 rushing yards while Utah moved the ball at will."

"The Bruins were rag-dolled and tossed around by Utah. It was men against boys. UCLA's lines were destroyed. If a team has bad line play, nothing else is going to work on either side of the ball. Eight months of preparation led to a tissue-soft performance."

"It wasn’t Iamaleava’s fault that UCLA got destroyed, they got utterly outclassed, but that just emphasizes how his decision to leave Tennessee to join a rebuilding Bruin program was a foolish one...Needless to say, Tennessee fans had a field day on Twitter."

I've stated that it happened therefore I can't prove that USC would have joined the B1G w/o UCLA
My point is that if the Big would have refused to invite UCLA, that USC would have joined w/o a travel partner
As a business man, I'd take the Trojans, they bring more than they take away.
I wouldn't have allowed USC to dictate the terms.  They had no other better option.

I'd have told them to follow Stanford to the ACC
you are wrong.  ole~.  word.  big hands.

My USC BIL says that USC was going to come regardless. The B1G F'd this up all on its own because it "needed" to add 2 for an even number.

I'd argue that it already had an even number back in 2011.

Doubt it.  Would make no sense to strand yourself on an island.

I have no idea why this is even a discussion.  Whether y'all like it or not, the B1G got exactly what it wanted.

Your schools are cashing the checks, and this is the price you pay for it.

Even with UCLA, USC is on an island. UCLA is just the anchor, and very lucky...

The XII should have stood down rather than offering schools like BYU, UCF, Houston, Cincy, etc.

They could have likely landed/merged with the PAC schools (XII already took 4 for them).

A PAC with USC, Washington, Oregon, Stanford and Cal (and Arizona, ASU, Utah, Colorado) would have fit nicely into the XII - or the PAC could have acted first and taken the best of the XII.

Terrible leadership out there doomed them. Larry Scott in particular.

Because I brought in all of the facts, and fact-based discussions are something we do here.

And yes, USC was coming regardless of anyone else. They demanded nothing from the B1G. The B1G and its terrible (at the time) commissioner F'd up. The B1G needed to add exactly nobody, let in 2, and then let in another 2 (one of which is like letting Stage 4 cancer into your lungs).

PAC had worse television numbers than the B12, even without TX and OU.  Nobody out there cares about college football.

After 2010, there was no chance of the PAC ever consuming the B12.  The only thing that ever could have happened, is what did happen.

No way USC was going to stay on an island.  You already stated they wanted Stanford.  Then they wanted UCLA.

Do you remember UT's "Tech Problem?"  That wasn't an issue with the Texas leg trying to force Tech as a partner.  That was Texas wanting to bring a playmate, and A&M was already gone to the SEC.  Texas wanted a partner for reasons that should be obvious.  USC wanted the same thing.

Again, and for the last time-- the B1G got what it wanted.  Regardless of how fans like you feel about it.  The B1G wanted this.  Your schools are cashing the checks.  They could choose not to, they could leave, but they don't.  And so you're all stuck with this.

They bring the Rose Bowl, which is where they should hold the Big Ten CCG every year.

Agree 100%, that would be a lot of fun and would provide some much deserved relevance back to that historic venue.

Half decent chance of a traditional Rose Bowl matchup too.
