I looked the look of the oxymoronic "American Wagyu" ribeye at Costco and they had a perfectly sized two pack. So tonight is that with wedge salad.

Tomorrow is grilled swordfish.

In recent years I switched over to YouTubeTV for my "cable" package, and earlier this week there was a scare that Fox and YTTV were in a dispute and they were going to take the Fox channels off of the service, which would of course affect the Texas-Ohio State game.

So I went digging through my FOUR boxes of extra A/V crap, and found my old OTA antenna.  I hooked it up, tested it, and everything was good to go.  Took me about 45 minutes to do all of that.

So, of course, within about ten minutes of finishing that, I hear the news that they've agreed to a temporary contract extension and YTTV will have the game after all.

Still, after testing the OTA antenna, it reminded me of just how much better the HD picture quality is over the air.  So I decided to leave the antenna set up, and watch the game live over the air.

Plus it'll prevent any weird buffering that might happen-- my Spectrum cable connection has always had some problems, but unfortunately there are no fiber options in my neighborhood.
Also for me Spectrum or Hulu is delayed a bit so people post reactions on Twitter before I see it "live." Antenna is the way to go

About to start my second mug of coffee. Nothing too exciting in the way of food today. Goal is to hold off drinking until LSU-Clemson kickoff tonight. Once that game gets going, and/or Brian Kelly/Dabo Swinney get their tempers going, I'll start in on Whiskey Mules with Jameson as the active ingredient.

I'd neve had walleye until I spent a few months in Minnesota.  Man I love that fish.  We get trout, crappie, bass, and other forms of perch down here, but no walleye.  So good.

You can have a cow on American soil and feed it and treat it like they do those cows in Japan, no?

I'm just cooking up a bunch of chicken tenders and eating them in various ways over the next couple of days.

Some w/ wing sauce and ranch, some chopped up in a salad, some chopped up with rice and veggies with teriyaki sauce, etc.

Easy variety.

Happy First Week, guys.  This is a special game, despite efforts to screw it up.  And this is a special space of the interwebs, thanks to you all.

Everyone has reason for optimism until we don't, lol.  Enjoy!!!!

One good thing about the Badgers' level of suck is that there is little shot that I'd have to listen to Gus Johnson.

I can't believe Fox does this to us.
