Wake Up and Smell the Chaos (SOC 12-5-20)

This whole year has been one long exercise in learning how to embrace chaos.  Am I going to work today? Are my kids going to school today?  As someone who likes having a routine, it was really taxing the hell out of me for a while.  At some point, though, I learned how to stop caring and learned to embrace the fresh hell that each new day gave us.  

So it is today.  Supposedly, OSU is in East Lansing about to play a game at noon.  Might it get cancelled? Sure?  Do we know is able to play? Nope! But here are, still enjoying a day of college football, posting nonsense on message boards, and cooking up some fine meals.  Which reminds me to hit up Krogers here in a bit.  No idea of what they will have or what I will make, but that's just part of the deal this year.

Noon
OSU at MSU, ABC
Nebraska at Purdue, BTN
Penn State at Rutgers, FS1

3:30
Iowa at Illinois, FS1
Indiana at Wisconsin, ABC

Others
TAMU at Auburn, noon, ESPN: TAMU is on the outside looking in of the playoffs, but another loss for them would be quite pleasing to the Cincy's of the world
BYU at Coastal Carolina, 5:30, ESPNU: Two good undefeated teams who are playing each other on days' notice.  Fun to see

This. Still working on it from my end.

Today I will make a Bolognese and serve it over spaghetti. I've got some fresh green beans so I'll probably cook those.

Or, today I will make the triple tail my wife picked up at the farmer's market yesterday. Maybe some homemade fries to go with, and the beans.

Or, today I will make burgers using my home grind, with some homemade fries to go with, and the beans.

We also have some mini smoked weanies and crescent rolls. I like those.

I sure wish Indiana had their starting quarterback. I still think the Wisconsin versus Indiana game will be excellent but it had a playoff kind of feel to it before he went down.

I'd go with the triple tail while it's very fresh, but I'm land locked and rarely get good seafood

looking forward to the Huskers/Boilers today

another early kick, I'm getting to embrace the 11am with a bloody and a beer back

smoked brats with cheese and homemade kraut

or boneless pork loin chops grilled

or a nice NY strip on the weber

or if I want to attend a Hawkeye watch party this afternoon - the fellas there will have pork ribs on the pellet smoker

UNL gets another win.

Rutgers gets destroyed today.

Illinois gets the upset win that Lovie needs.

Wisconsin goes down hard to IU in a crushing 1 point loss at home.

I'm all about that spaghetti with Bolognese.  Chaos!

Tonight my isc&a aggie wife and I are going out to dinner for my birthday.  We have outdoor reservations at a Northern Italian (not American-Italian) restaurant, where I've had the branzino and it's fantastic.  I'll likely be choosing between that, and their braised short ribs.
