Big Ten hasn't existed since 1992.
Yeah, but you could make an argument that the SEC hasn't existed since 1991, when they picked up a school from the SWC.
(I wouldn't make that argument BTW... As far as I'm concerned, Arkansas can be considered a Southeastern state. Missouri is more of a stretch though.)
IMHO it would be hard to argue that the Big Ten taking on PSU, and later Nebraska, weren't good logical additions. I wasn't following CFB back when PSU was added but I know that I said on here that I felt like Nebraska largely "fit" and "made sense".
Just like the SEC taking on A&M, UT, and OU.
But when the Big Ten started adding schools like MD and RU, it started getting silly. And then becoming a nation-spanning superconference with
nearly twice as many schools as in the conference's name? Just nuts. And then the
Atlantic Coast Conference adding two schools within spitting distance of the Pacific Ocean?
Go home CFB; you're drunk.
