Sorry, I missed that.

Still strange that it's not garnering more attention.  If you follow this out logically, the average length of an NFL career is about 3-4 years.  So you will have a big influx of ex-Pro guys ( former NFL, UFL, CFL, etc) that didn't cut it in the pro leagues, but would probably be an outstanding college ball player, and some of these guys are making $5 MM and up per year.  Not to mention all the college guys who will never sniff a down in the NFL, like Haynes King and other non-pro QB's and RB.

I wasn't joking when I said MSU should kick the tires on Justin Fields.  Recently great college QBs who seem pretty done in the NFL

When Arch Manning's done maybe we can get Colt McCoy back.

perhaps just tongue in cheek but apparently Carson Beck said he hasn't been to class in a couple years

Shaq recently asked Tom Brady on his podcast if he thought he could still play in the NFL, physically.  Brady didn't hesitate and said yes, he still works to keep himself in prime shape, he still feels great, and he was confident if he came back right now he could be one of the best QBs in the NFL.

Forget Colt.  Get the GOAT.  Even if he's wrong about being able to compete in the NFL, I bet he'd tear it up in college with a good OL.

Good idea, we should re-recruit Kevin Mawae and Todd McClure.  I'd say go get Alan Faneca too, but he lost all that weight to run marathons.  They may be ancient, but they have to be better than the OL we've had lately.

I mean, you don't need to restrict it to just guys who went to your own school.  Go out and get the absolute best Olinemen you can, who are a little long in the tooth for the NFL but could probably still shred it in college football.

We're jesting about this,  but there's really no reason it couldn't work.  Here's the average career length for NFL players by position.  Just find ones that are aging out due to maybe being slightly off their game at the NFL level and replaced by younger guys, rather than dudes who are leaving due to injuries.

Mike Webster would have been better than the Wisconsin center from last season, and he's been dead for over 20 years.

How many leagues are there these days? Did the XFL go under again?

Start poaching washed out NFLers, and the NFL (and its very wealthy monied interests) will start to show a real interest in restricting college football eligibility. It really wants to keep its development league working for it for free.
