I think what the post refers to is players who enter the portal but aren’t picked up.

Example of a very poorly-designed postseason:

12-5 Rams
@
8-9 Panthers
.
Yes, the NFL is the #1 sport in our country.  Yes, everyone knew the rules going in.
That doesn't mean it's a sane system.
It's actively bad.

Hopefully college football doesn't do the same (despite last year's top 4 seeds...)

Absolutely not.  You've cherry picked one anomaly out of a bunch of games when all the rest of the teams are very well matched.

Panthers won their divsiion, Rams did not.  Thems the breaks.

Its funny,  suddenly the whole idea of the NFL having 4-team divisions in a 16-team conference seems so out of date.  Especially when you consider you still have division teams playing twice a season.
We are all equal but some are more equal than others.

What if the NFL just went with 8 team divisions?

NFC West
LAR,  SF, Sea, Ariz,
Minn, GB, Chi, Det

AFC West
LAC, LV, Den,  KC,
Hou,  Tenn, Indy,  Jax

NFC East
Dal,  Wash, Philly,  NYG,
Atl,  Carolina, Tampa, NO

AFC East
NYJ, NE,  Buf,  Miami,
Balt,  Pitt,  Cle,  Cincy

The main problem I see with this setup is Jacksonville playing in the AFC West,  but other than that,  the other teams might be ok with this.

Otherwise you could just get rid of AFC and NFC and combine geographic divisions

West
LAR,  SF, Sea, Ariz,
LAC,  LV, Den, KC

South
Atl, Carolina, Tampa, NO,
Hou,  Tenn, Indy,  Jax

East
Dal,  Wash, Philly,  NYG,
NYJ, NE, Buf,  Miami

North
Minn, GB,  Chi, Det,
Balt,  Pitt,  Cle,  Cincy
We are all equal but some are more equal than others.

Playing division rivals twice is one of the things the NFL has correct.  Generates more hate and more interest.  Changing that would be... silly.

It’s wild to learn that sports have been done wrong the whole time.

Yet people freak out about CFB rematch possibilities.
