I've always respected their program. Even during the tattoo bullshit, they handled it right.

This unequal revenue talk really pisses me off.

That's exactly what drove unequal revenue sharing in the B12 (and the ACC, by the way, until they made the shift about the same time the B12 did).

unequal revenue sharing is a really bad idea.

NFL model works. just follow it. the equal rev share tv deals have allowed teams in small markets like Green Bay to flourish. rising tide lifts all boats. team work makes the dream work.
The entire history of CFB seems to be about keeping teams in small markets from flourishing.

I mean, 2024 was a wake up call for the B1G helmet teams... The INDIANA FUCKING HOOSIERS made the inaugural 12-team CFP!

We can't allow that to happen. We must cut their revenue share so that only the helmets ever have a chance of making it in the CFP. The servants must know their place!

FSU seems like a small market.  Alabama?  Same.  Tennessee?  Oregon?

By "small market" I'm thinking more of "non-traditional helmets". I.e. Northwestern or Georgia Tech or Cal would be large-market teams, but not traditional helmets, and they're also in the group of teams the helmets want to keep down in non-helmet status.

FSU and Oregon are actually two excellent examples of what I'm talking about. They were teams that were not helmet teams traditionally but have ascended over time, in the latter case entirely due to $$$. While the helmets can't stop someone like Phil Knight from providing unlimited money, they would LOVE unequal TV revenue sharing to make sure there's no "the next Oregon" out there.

I don't know if this is really a goose and golden egg scenario. There's potentially a lucrative market out there for just the biggest of the big CFB teams. That said I hope that if that happens Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana, and Northwestern say thanks for the good times, and head in a different direction. If Nebraska wants to come, cool. It would suck, but being a doormat on a massively uneven playing field doesn't sound too good.
