My guess after Azamara an NCL cruise could be a real let down.

Possibly.

Celebrity was definitely a downer.

I've only ever been on Carnival (never again), Celebrity (maybe if it was a group trip) and Azamara (have one booked).

I want to try Oceana. But wow $$$$.

Yeah, I checked Oceana thinking my NCL status might get me something (it would a little) but the price is up there.  Our 22 day cruise with NCL is around $17 K for a balcony on one of their new ships (Prima) which they claim is wonderful (duh).  That includes air, no booze.

I had fun on our Carnival cruise.  The kids were like 6 and 8 so that's probably part of it.

Anything with a waterslide is a no go for us.

The kids expecially loved the waterslides.  I did too!

Operative word here.

Love my grandkids.

I just don't like to travel around kids in close confines. I'm prone enough to catching a cold.

The ship we were on has multiple water slides, a climbing wall, a large kids playroom, etc.  It didn't have many kids on board.  I took my kids on a Carnival cruise when they were 6 and 8 also, it was great, for us.  I wouldn't do Carnival again.  I'm mostly interested in visiting places somewhere distant.  This is our next one.

I think I like dressing up until it's time to dress up.  I recently bought another suit, wore it once, so far, to the symphony and dinner beforehand.  I wore a bow tie, not a tie tie.  I can still tie a tie apparently, I tried a while ago.  I have to not think about it.  For my first several years at work, we wore ties.

I even have a "black tie" suit, I am not sure it's much different from a suit suit other than a black stripe on the pants.  Armani doesn't make a blue tuxedo.....

I looked pretty spiffy when we got married.  My wife looked more than spiffy.  I even shaved my mustache which I had had for 45 years.

We're headed to Vienna for two weeks late April, I'm sure I'll be dressing up for this and that.

Does anyone here own "expensive" suits or footware?
I have 2 suits. I have about 100 ties that I need to get rid of.  Haven't worn a tie for years, use to have to wear them all the time.  Wild and crazy ties were sort of my calling card.  I have 2 pairs of dress shoes, one black, one brown. Haven't worn either again for years.

I have a couple sport coats I wear somewhat often.  They are just coats to me, maybe it's a bit cool outside and we're going out somewhere.  I dress up a bit for the symphony, often a sport coat and nicer pants and shoes.

Been on the Viva for 36 days, been on the Prima in December, going to be back on it on Sunday.  I really like the new ships.  They seem to have spread things around and make the ship seem less crowded.  The new Indulge food area really beats out the buffet.  we like sitting around the infinity pools on the sides of the ship.  Haven't done the Vibe on these ships yet, but really like the Vibe on other ships

We are going on the cruise next week to visit with some crew members that we have become friends with.  The itinerary is one we have done a number of times.  We will take them off the ship to get them lunch one day and generally they are able to get permission to have one meal with us in the main dining room.  Otherwise we stay at the bar one is at or go to an activity another is working. We will also go into one of the towns and get them some basic stuff that they can't get on the ship.

I have found the transatlantic have almost no kids, but lots of scooters and walkers.  One of the reason I retired, don't want to be the one who can't get around and do things.

The Asia cruise was nice, almost zero kids, and very few walkers etc.  A lot of Asians (!).
