Heh. My license was for a maximum 100 tons (about a 100-foot yacht or 100 passenger tour boat).

The ships we cruise on are 32,000 tons. It would take me many years to accumulate the hours of service to pilot a cruise ship.

The good news?

I don't want to pilot a cruise ship, or any other ship.

Allegiant is good. Staff are very well mannered and very friendly. Laid back and funny.

There is no first/business class, but they do have extra legroom up front that we like.

They fly out of Punta Gorda, which is nice. They do not go to Ohare. Only Midway and Rockford. That's the crappy part if we are going to Chicago. No drive on this end but a crappy one on the other end.

I'd be interested to know the criteria that places Spirit anywhere other than dead last.

Allegiant is also rarely rated that high, but I'm a fan. IMO, far and away leader of the low-cost carriers and not that far behind AA. A great option to fly direct to/from Florida.

I'm cautiously optimistic to see what their route map looks like after completing their acquisition of Sun Country.

The worst I’ve flown in 3x is West Jet.   My daughter warned me they are bad.

We try and stick with Delta.

As are we. They recently added flights at Fort Myers, so they are expanding routes. Milwaukee would be really nice for us. Hopefully that will get on the list. Maybe Ohare will get on the list once they are done with the new International Terminal and convert the old one to the bargain terminal (SW, Spirit, Frontier, etc. already use gates in that dump).

Spirit sucks in every way possible.

For us, it's mostly American and then sometimes Allegiant. We have friends up in Sarasota who use Allegiant exclusively.

I remember having a layover in Chicago once, and it looked more like a dirty bus station than an airport. Must've been in the "dump."

Might have also been Terminal 2.

Terminals 1 and 3 are nice.

A handful of flights out of Eppley Airfield (Omaha) are canceled for Monday after a massive winter storm made for a brutal travel day Sunday. Affected destinations out of Eppley include: Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, and New York.

According to the Associated Press, more than 11,400 flights were canceled on Sunday due to weather.

Law school, then?
What else you gonna do when you major in History with no teaching emphasis.

I do wonder if following in Skicat's dad's and his path of HS History/Football Coach would have been tolerable in this day and age.  I'd have probably hit somebody by now.

We're off in a week for an eastern Caribbean cruise, including St. Kitts which for some reason attracts my interest.  My wife worked for a while on St. Thomas and is interested in how it looks.  Includes Puerto Rico and the DR and a few small islands, one of which requires an eVisa.

Anyway, it should be warmer.  We got a nice deal on this one.  I had stopped looking at cruises out of US ports but this one cropped up.
