Pouring rain this afternoon.  Visited meteor crater. Flagstaff was a bust.
I was gonna tell you to skip it, but then I thought I should let you decide how to spend your time.

How's the food up there?

We’ve made do with whatever we can heat on the pan over the evening campfire. Burgers and salted cuts of fish that otherwise taste better after a long day on the water or off-roading the logging trails through the remote North Maine Woods.

Something I didn’t think to expect was Canada right across the Saint John River. Yesterday we crossed over into New Brunswick and I was pretty surprised to hear French spoken as the primary tongue among the locals. Figured Quebec was the only French-centric province. Either way, there’s always a few very Canadian details about crossing into Canada. The Maple Leaf outline designed into just about every business logo, the road signs in both English and French, Tim Hortons.

Astronomer Clyde Tombaugh—who worked in the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona—discovered Pluto on February 18, 1930. Tombaugh was only 24 when he found it.

Horseshoe Bend is sketchy. It's in Glen Canyon, so your parks pass should get you in, but the parking lot is a "city park," so they still charge you.

There's a cool spot between horseshoe bend and the dam that is a bit of a hidden gem.

Navajo Bridge, between Flagstaff and Page, runs along the boundary of Glen Canyon and Grand Canyon. It features sweeping views of the Vermilion Cliffs.

From there, there's a road down to Lee's Ferry, which is the launching point for those who want to take the river through the Grand Canyon.

Lee's Ferry also has a beach.

We drove Sedona to Flagstaff to Page and didn’t cross that bridge.
