We've kinda made a decision that we will not travel internationally for a while.

We have a chance to go to Rome and Munich next year very cheaply, but I don't think we will do it.
Already have plans to go to the eastern mediterrean next October, including Israel & Egypt.  Wife wants to cancel, I say give it time before cancelling, things will settle down again.  Can always cancel as it gets closer.

I don't believe that at all. This is just a start. That area is a war zone, and it will only get worse.

Our current plan is Croatia and Greece in June.  We'll see...

In the past, Israeli conflicts have been largely contained and short lived though a few dragged out of this general ilk with "terrorists".

I can't quite see why anyone else would want to get involved, even Hezbollah.

Good to be back, our Internet was down until recently for whatever reason.  We slept pretty well.  Nice weather here.  Dunno why we leave.  Next cruise is Japan and Korea in March.

I'm still pondering how such a huge ship could be whipped around like that.

I continue to be struck by our wealth here in the US, particularly with respect to housing.  Ireland seemed quite poor, and I think it is relatively.  England also seems relatively poor.  Their middle class don't live like we do.

I'm also struck by how obese many of us are, especially o a cruise.  I lost weight, yay.  We did not do the "beverage package", which in fact costs about $85 per day.  I bought two bottles of wine when we went to the upscale restaurants and had a few beers in Scotland and Ireland.  And a bit of Jamison.

We saw a fairly large protest in Cork, free Palestine etc.  I guess they want the Jews to F off?

I will say, I have met obese people in my travels in Europe.

They mostly speak perfect [American] English.

Europeans are definitely getting fatter every time I've visited, going back to my first trip in 1994.  Our export of McDonald's is doing work.

If you get a chance to visit Zion, come euipped for some wading.  Two poles are useful, the ground under the water is uneven and then some, and figure on getting wet, it's no biggie.

It's one of the most interesting beautiful areas I've ever seen.

My TSA clearance is coming up next year, and my Amex says they pay for Global Entry which includes TSA, so I just applied.

That is one of the longest applications I've ever completed.

We were in line for Customs Monday and the Global Entry line was almost as long as the regular.

We got through in Gatwick in a couple minutes with no humans involved.  Scan passports and bing, you're done.

In Atlanta, if your plane goes to a gate in E Terminal, you have to walk 30 minutes to get to customs on F terminal, no train.
